Rogue24 Entry Procedures

First round entry nominations for the 24hr Rogue Raid have now closed and successful teams will be notified of their place in the race. If you wish to enter the 24hr race, please contact Liam directly at rogueadventureracing@gmail.com to discuss options (likely BYO kayak unless you are an A1 team) – we’ll do everything we can to get you to the start line of the race.  Entries for the 6hr race will open by 15/01/2021.

With a history of selling out within minutes of opening entries over its decade long+ history, the Rogue Raid has adopted a procedure for entries that alleviates the stress on teams looking to secure a place in the race.  Entries will follow a two-step process:

1. Expression of Interest

Teams wishing to enter the race can submit an expression of interest including their relevant team details. Expressions of interest in 2021 will open on Monday 4 January, 2021 and will close on Friday 8 January, 2021.

Note that teams will have the option of nominating for the team of 2 or team of 4 category, as well as BYO Kayak or Kayak Provided option.

2. Offers of places

Assuming we have enough capacity to cover initial interest in the race, all teams will be offered a place and be sent payment details on Sunday 10 January, 2021.

If demand exceeds capacity as it has done in previous years, places will be offered to teams in the following order:

  1. Teams with at least one competitor who has volunteered at a QRA or Raid event in the last 12 months will receive a guaranteed entry (more on the volunteer rewards system here).
  2. International teams (that is, at least half the team will be travelling from overseas to compete in the race).
  3. Interstate teams that have competed in two or more Adventure 1 races in the last 12 months.
  4. All remaining teams will enter a lottery process.

If a team does not confirm their place through payment of the relevant entry fee, then their place will be offered up to the next team on the list.

Teams that are initially unsuccessful in obtaining a place will be put on a waitlist. Note that traditionally teams on the waitlist are almost always offered a place in the lead up to the Rogue24 as other teams invariably drop out due to injury, etc.

Also note, to help ease capacity restraints in the race, teams of 2 will be given the opportunity to race using their own kayaks in 2021 if there are not enough double CTR kayaks available.  Excess double CTRs will be given in preference to teams travelling internationally and interstate where possible – we will have a better idea of availability at the end of the expression of interest process.

If you have any further questions about the Rogue24, or indeed any of the Raid Adventures events, I can be contacted via the details here.

Teams should be aware of the Raid Adventures Cancellation and Refund policy here. Note that for interstate teams, we appreciate that there is an air of uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic situation and we will work best with your team to get you to the start line of the race if at all possible.
