No, this is not a motivational blog post about the attributes required by adventure racers to reach their goals – its a race HQ anouncement for the 2014 Rogue24 Adventuregaine! Next years race will be hosted at the Lake Perseverance Active Recreation Centre. Bordered by multiple state and national parks, cattle grazing country, rocky gorges and expansive lakes, all within a two hour drive of Brisbane, the region is all new to adventure racing yet almost purpose built for trekking, mountain biking and paddling.
After a protacted permitting process with three different governing bodies, I’m excited to announce that the final approval is in and we have access to some very special areas that the region has to offer. For full details, head on over to the Adventuregaine section of the Rogue Adventure website.
On top of the traditional adventure racing disciplines of trekking, mountain biking and kayaking, competitors will also be challenged with stand up paddle boarding and archery. Throw in the full amenities of the recreation centre including cabin-style accommodation, catered meals, power and hot showers, along with live GPS tracking, electronic timing, sponsored prizes, custom built event maps and kayak, SUP and archery hire and this is set to be one of the best races on the AR calendar next year. Make the most of the long weekend and join us for the pre-race social actvities on the Friday night.
Entries are set to open in the first week of January, 2014. Keep an eye on the Rogue Adventure FaceBook Page for further details in the lead up to the race.
